DLC Coating stands for diamond-like carbon coating, and is a nanocomposite coating that has unique properties of natural diamond low friction, high hardness, and high corrosion resistance.
DLC coatings can have different structures and properties that rely on the ratio of SP3 (diamond) and SP2 (carbon) or other fillers like hydrogen, silicon, and metal in the layer.
DLC coatings meet MIL-PRF-32711 specification for military firearms.

The TUFF Mk1 pen is built from various high performance American metals to extreme precision with a tolerance of +/-.0004” (17.5 times thinner than a human hair).

The weight and balance of the pen are immediately noticeable. The pen writes smoother and more stable than any pen. The TUFF Mk1 makes writing a whole new experience.

The pens are manufactured by manual and cnc machine work and are hand fitted and assembled to order.

The pens use a space-pen ink cartridge in either black,blue, or red ink.

Each pen has a hardened 17-4 stainless steel clip with ball bearing action.

One end of the Mk1 can be used as a pain compliance device while the other can be used as a glass breaker.

Inside of the pen is a fire-starting rod which can be filed with the striker tool, then a pile of filings can be struck with the striker to create fire. A hardened 4140 steel striker is also housed internally.
